On June 28,1914 a Serbia rebel killed Archduke Ferdinand of Australia Hungary
- Germans were the first to use flamethrowers in WWI. Their flamethrowers could fire jets of flame as far as 130 feet.
In 1917 Aurthur Zimmerman sent a telegram, written in code, to Germany representative in Mexico.
